WANDERERS - LACK OF PROGRESS REPORT
Week 6 - 90/91 Season
Oh well, at least it wasn't the anchor leg that lost it for us this week - No it was a GROCER ! - Yes Gary I do mean you. On a high scoring alley (This Week), Gary 'Gaylord' Newman sank to the depths of a miserable 29. I don't think this is Gary's favourite alley, he's already paid six fines on it . . . and even the eggs came from Circle K!
We lost by 5 pins and were certainly outsung in the first two legs, in fact we didn't even sing in the first two legs - Due in no small part to the fact that half of the bloody team were missing because they can't read - Yes it did say MONDAY ! on the fixtures sheet.
A very sound 45 from Nigel 'Don't call me Whiteboy' Bethal (Without a spare), put us within 5 pins of the opposition, but masterful though the anchor hand were (Spurred on this week no doubt, by the presence of their loving Captain, who himself scored a very wondrous 43) they could only hold their men. Special mention should also be made to Mike 'Yo-Yo' Wood, who bounded back after last week with a good 40, even after only getting an 11 for a flattener.
Cliff 'Living Doll with a Smelly Bottom' Pennell just clings onto his anchor man position, but he is under intense pressure from FB, Nigger and Scouse (only .83 of a pin separates the top 4 places).
Thankyou to Neil 'FBB' Davies for his song sheets (BASTARD!), and please remember, as from this week we are starting the thrift collection for our day out at the races on the Wednesday of Gold Cup week next year. The Itinerary of the day will be as follows:
Mike 'Re-unified Kraut' Bendal will be making the collections.
